A Clinical Alternative to the Salon

Mobile Medical Pedicure in San Jose, Santa Clara & San Diego

At RNscrub Foot Care, we provide mobile medical pedicure-style foot care delivered by licensed Registered Nurses — designed for clients with diabetes, vascular conditions, or thickened or discolored nails who want professional, in-home care that goes beyond a traditional salon pedicure.

How We Differ from a Salon Pedicure

Unlike a salon visit, our nurse-led service uses single-use clinical instruments and follows professional infection control standards. Our focus is long-term foot health, not cosmetic results. Common concerns we routinely address during a visit include:

  • Thickened, overgrown, or hard-to-cut toenails
  • Yellow or discolored nails
  • Calluses and corns on the feet
  • Dry, cracked heels and rough skin

We do not offer massages, nail polish, or foot soaks. This is a clinical, nurse-delivered foot care service, not a spa pedicure.

Who This Service Is For

  • Seniors and family caregivers looking for safe, in-home foot care
  • Clients living with diabetes who need careful, preventative nail and skin care
  • Individuals with compromised immune systems, vascular conditions, or limited mobility
  • Hospice patients and residents of assisted living, board and care, and senior communities

Our goal is to support foot hygiene and promote long-term foot health — never to diagnose or treat medical conditions. We refer clients to a podiatrist or physician when medical care is appropriate.

We proudly serve Santa Clara County — including San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Mountain View, Los Altos, and Palo Alto — and San Diego County, including La Jolla, Encinitas, Del Mar, Carlsbad, and surrounding cities.

Common Questions

Before You Book

What's the difference between this and a salon pedicure?
A salon pedicure is a cosmetic service. RNscrub Foot Care is a clinical, nurse-led service designed for clients with diabetes, vascular conditions, thickened or discolored nails, or limited mobility. Visits are performed by licensed Registered Nurses using sterilized clinical tools and single-use supplies, with a focus on foot health rather than cosmetic results. We do not offer polish, soaks, or massages.
How is this different from seeing a podiatrist?
Podiatrists diagnose and treat medical conditions and perform procedures. RNscrub Foot Care provides routine, preventative foot and nail care that supports overall foot health between podiatry visits. Our service is complementary — when we identify something requiring medical treatment, we refer you to a podiatrist or physician.
Do you treat ingrown toenails or fungal infections?
No. Treating ingrown toenails or diagnosing and treating fungal infections is outside the scope of registered nursing and requires a podiatrist or physician. We can carefully trim and file nails to support comfort, and we are happy to refer you to a local podiatrist for any condition that requires medical treatment.
Do you accept Medicare or insurance?
We are a private-pay practice and do not bill insurance or Medicare. Most insurance plans, including Medicare, do not cover routine foot care unless specific medical criteria are met. Payment is due at the time of service. We accept credit cards, debit cards, checks, and cash.
What areas do you serve?
We provide mobile foot care across Santa Clara County — including San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Mountain View, Los Altos, and Palo Alto — and across San Diego County, including La Jolla, Encinitas, Del Mar, Carlsbad, Escondido, and surrounding cities. Contact us if you're not sure whether your area is covered.
